• Subtle mention of birth control (a monthly "tincture" some girls have to take to prevent "situations," but "pregnancy" is not said directly)

• Mention that some girls are considered "defiled" in one culture if they have had sexual experiences, but "sex" is not said directly (this cultural perception is mentioned as something that is mentally and emotionally damaging to girls)

• Two characters end up bathing in the same cave pool (not on purpose) and are both naked under the water, nothing is seen or "shown"
